Coral Holding the Tide Shimmering Sand, "Coral" was born on a island with small bits of gems dusting their beaches. When she was born her clan revived the messages that she would be responsible for helping to stop a great destruction and thus named her after their great protectors, the coral, which held back dangerous waves from destroying their beaches. Living a peaceful life up until she was 14 Coral learned to have a very laid back attitude. However a few months after her birthday her island was discovered by a lost cargo ship. Upon seeing the shattered gemstones along the beach they quickly began plans to return with a larger force to harvest those gems. When they returned Coral's clan and the invaders fought and forcefully displaced the clan. Her clan ended up resettling outside of waterdeep where they took on odd jobs and traded whatever wares they could in order to muster up coin necessary for them to survive. After a five years of living outside of waterdeep a master thief named Brevik noticed Coral lifting a grapefruit from a local vendor's stand while casually walking through the market. Brevik lured her in and taught her various method of basic thievery. After she started to become confidant in her skill Brevik invited her into a heist job with promises of enough gold to allow her entire clan live a better life, a life closer to the one they had on their island. Brevik had Coral recruit her cousin Kait as well as a lookout. However it was quickly made clear to Coral that Brevik was only using her to take the fall when he let her activate a trap in order so he and the others could get past it leaving her trapped inside a cage. When the town guard caught up to her she was arrested and slated for a trial. However before the trial could occur Kait managed to sneak in to the jail and break her out. Coral knew of something called Sunholm, and knew that if you went there nobody would chase you. She told Kait to tell her family that she was going to hide there for a while and eventually would return to everyone again after nobody was searching for her anymore.
Coral then spent a couple years in Sunholm until the guild hall was destroyed during a tournament, after which she decided it would be a pretty easy life to be a clerk for a guild faction. She ended up befrending the folks in the Ruby Counsel.
