18 - Act 3: Holiri Floating Temple Floor 9 Part 1

Session Characters: Avallac'h, Brig, Gix, Ignar, Lucky  
Giz, Avallach, Lucky, Ignar, and Brig to the Temple of Holiri floating temple. Starting on 7th floor, everything else below has been cleared.

Skip 7th and 8th floor to 9th floor and see large room with 4 large statues - gladiator looking. Temple made of stonish construction and looks same in this room. Large and circular, and is the only floor that is the entire room so far and don't see anymore stairs up to next floor, is a center column that goes to top of ceiling (10ish/average ceiling height still though). All statues are standing still in their 4 corners.

Brig is charmed and cannot leave this room - and sees something attracting about the statue 1 (enthralled) but resist against statue 3. No elf ears and have a short hair style. Statue appears made out of stone but have never seen something like this. Holding hammers. Gix joins Brig, but the statues don't seem to do anything.

Gix also fails with a 19/18 wis and feels like not leaving the room, too. Brig feels no changes. Round 2. Avallach uses Bigby's hand to push the statue but fails.

Room does seem that the room is likely to the edge of the current ring of this temple, but not the top. Ignar and Lucky join us. Lucky trying to figure out why everyone is so interested in these statues. Pretty detailed statue and on level with masterwork marble statues. Gix tries to lift one, and succeeds on 3rd grapple to lift, but now it and all the others begin to move. Changed from inanimate to animate something.

Statue 2 is moving toward Brig to attack and only entrallled with room so knows that am being attacked. And critical misses. 22 AC!!! Legendaryly resist against psychic lance. Lucky banishing 2 of the 4 was super helpful!!! Easier saves at top of round.

Kill 1 and saves get harder, kill 2, and other 2 planeshift back. One gets forcecaged. Gix can't attack statues with an 8. Lucky with a 5 now considers statues allies and allies enemies!!! Round 8ish? Avallach takes out the 3rdd one with Bibgy's hand! (still has an action).

3 - Mini Campaign (Kit-lai)

Chapter 3 Generally entire domain of Et is peaceful, not guarded with patrols; entities will be able to identify us but won't be instantly attacked.

How to prepare to enter? Do we bring gifts? Morgan is an appropriate amount of sticky. Items are braided into his fur and wears ornamentation similarly. We don't but Trevor has some stuff he can give. We all follow to not be left behind. Rich trips Morgan with mage hand to stay in front.

A short time later, we come across a child of Et - they are not humanoid, large gelatnous ooze, bright red. Not sure of purpose or if they have a name. Ooze asks us hello! what brings you here? Tell we're looking for Ti to ask questions. Trail of gunk left behind ooze that is killing the plant life but starts leading us toward Ti.

Ooze has questions for us. Doesn't have a name. Courtney talks about how lightning is fun. Rich talks about liking music and drums. Morgan finds oozes revolting. Trevor hangs out with his bats and explosions. Warned about the city that vanished and be careful. Ooze doesn't know why the city vanished. We're going to find Ti and pace has quickened and while started at a cheerful mosey, now a decent pace. How is the faith of Jalari going? Lots of gifts and offerings?

Ooze has no offerings. Trevor brags about the "gifts" he got from the tribe. Morgan tries to egg on ooze to see if they have envy. Morgan tries to claim the tribute is ours and not just Trevors. Trevor shoots in the air. Rich calms emotions. Ooze asks if always like this. Courtney was distracted by the wind during this.

Too fast to walk too slow to job pace. Ooze has never met Ti but Ti is always in one place. Trevor likes bats and staying in his cave. Courntey doesn't like staying in one place - always travleign except when stuck in the realm the past year. There's only Et as a god, but children of Et have names and Ti gave them to others. Ooze doesn't know if Ti can give us all names.

Now going very fast - momentum they claim but the ooze is also losing mass as we go (started pretty big so not too much smaller) As soon ooze stops, starts to grow. Ooze touches Morgan at question - acid definitely. Ooze starts at sprint pace 30 degrees new direction.

Courtney casts gust to help ease Rich's complaints.

A monolith appears in the distance and ooze says Ti is over there. Et is everywhere. Trevor says hi Et and hears hi in his ear. Ooze says how about next year and then stops and goes into dormant state. Trevor says we're excited to be there and ooze asks why? Why so interested in names? If someone doesn't have one … Discovered that we passed the tower 4 hours ago as we encounter a slime trail. How does ooze go to the bathroom? how does he not? Et is great says ooze. Everything you could ever want and more. Ooze doesn't want a name. Doesn't know how many have names.

A moment later, end up at the tower - gigantic diameter - can't quite see curvature of the tower at the edges. Can't tell if can just see taper of tower or top of tower this close up. There is a door. Ti is inside somewhere. Ti is somewhere in the middle. Ooze has never been to the top and few have. Doesn't know what's up there. Morgan says Not real a lot. and Envy a lot.

Walk into the tower opening and filled with children of divinity at base, different elements of arcana and weave being extracted and purified and powerful things, some beyond and some within our understanding. This is not much different than Jalari's palace but this is more condensed and also not Et's palace. Big open room size of several football fields and everything is arching in a dome. underground cavern feeling but above ground. Can see other exits or entrances that are letting in sunlight. No mortals.

Courtney asks someone where Ti is. Ti is upstairs. Tiny flying pixie will help us asks Ti questions. Asks if we have permission? We say yes.

Large arcane circle with flat piece of stone in different color. We stand on that and don't move. The platform isn't working for us though. And then didn't work for the pixie either. There is a stray circuit of arcana is out of place - Morgan found it. Fairy fixed it. Rock starts levitating us up. The folks in the main room are doing lots of magic something - unknown if what they're doing is magic or are themselves magic. Morgan notices a few words from these lower children of divinity and what they're doing is purifying arcane magic. Who is dirtifying it? Trevor reloads his gun. Elevator is halfway up toward a hole in the ceiling. Courtney always looking up - 5 ft. circle diameter ish.

We ride up the elevator and go into the hole and in dark vestibule as we're riding up. Spot of light above us but no other source. Morgan doesn't like the dark and shocking grasp didn't help but make hair on end.

2 creatures large with jackal heads in the room standing in our way. Ti is a little busy right now. Not sure how long Ti will be busy for, might be a few months. Ti is in there. Ti's job is… Morgan interjects that we have important news for Ti. Rich offers to play chess and does with one. Courtney asks if we could bring clouds inside for hide and seek. Puts up a fog cloud.

Hear a cacophony of scratches of all types (wood parchment other) in the next room. Could be scribes? spiders? Rich is casting suggestion on the other one to play chess with the other one. The other one asks how the game is going. And joins the game. Can this game do 3 people? Fog dissipates - Rich let the other one win and then the two of them play. Fog cloud again and try to open door but it's locked.

Look under crack in the door and is a brightly lit room that is more central to tower, brighter than sunlight. Can see a few feet in front of the door. Do we try to barge into the room and demand a name or do we wait. Rich is giving advice for the dragonchess game but it actually stalls the game. Morgan takes on large size and asks "you have name?" Krog and Krin are their names. Asks if we can have a name. Krog asks if Morgan is always like this. Krog can't give us name. Ti's purpose is not to give names. Krog getting annoyed at our questions and about to lose the game but Morgan runs into the door. Door gives a bit and damages it a bit. Morgan doesn't stop. Asked to stop our friend, and Trevor shoots Morgan. Krog and Krin don't like loud noise. 2 guards drag you back. Do gods bleed? And yes, blood - red blood for Morgan. Hide and seek rule breaker is Morgan.

Trevor firebolts Morgan to cauterize wound who falls unconscious but stable. The guards decide to stand by the door and are now playing chess by the door. All differnt types of shapes.

26 - Mini Campaign (Kit-lai)This

Morgan- Not wearing clothes, diagones except not smart - the barrel guy. Prod peope and try to get them to fight each other. Just asks lots of questions. Looks very primitive. Makes self smell bad. Very hairy - waxes and wanes with the moon. Often has envy. rune knight.

Gabe- Ranger gloomstalker with a tree stick, tarzan like character with lots of time in forest. druidic warrior. Half elf ish. Suspicious of minotaurs.

Rich- Bard college of lore with drums from the humans. Drums and lute.

Trevor- Inventor type character asking lots of how does this work questions; artificer artillerist with a gun. Really annoying so gave them fireworks. Have to go make his own unrefined gunpowder that he then needs to go and spend lots of time to refine so he bothered them less. Not many bullets - musket style.

All created by our Lord and deity Jalari - created for no particular purpose but will find a purpose. Life so far is figuring out what we want to do with this world and it is very new. 2 dieties exist Jalari is second. Elder god Et is the first deity. In the realm, for the most part is a primeval world some indidival mortal group so reside some close some far and several giant winged beasts control some primordial forces (later to be called dragons). Individual realms on the world where deity domains are - we are not restricted on where we go. Everyone gets along - some disagreements in the greater sense of how future should hold - how much should help or not with the mortals. Most think the forces shall be tamed. Mortals were created alongside first deity Et - mortals and dieties seem to have a corresponding relationship. 1000years later came into existence and then spawned the 5 of us at the same time in humanoid form whereas other deity like creations are in other forms.

Some secrets hidden from us by the deities but we can ascertain most things. Have been alive for some amount of time (sun rose and set several thousand times, but no real concept of real numbers) mortal groups have appeared and disappeared over them.

We're told not to interfere with mortals in negative ways. We are definitely superior but we are not special like mortals - we are there for the mortals and just a part of the deity system ourselves. Hunter gatherer mortal era but maybe a couple have settled somewhere specific. For the time being, we all are staying in a glowing white citadel close to Jalari's realm. Beyond lavish castle to any mortal. Jalari … Once approached by a deity can immediately know when they have manifested in a humanoid/mortal form but they take different forms. Both Jalari and Et get along and are kind, so we get along. Sometimes we get scolded for misbehavior to guide us away from (Jalari = she; Et = he) harming mortals and not intruding on Et's domain.

Created as adults but matured .over time with experience. No mortals or deity spawn tried to kill an immortal. so don't know if possible since no one tried. mortals have killed mortals though. Between differnty deity-kin a mix of affection types. Jalari and Et love us and mortals as children. 5 of us are close friends. Eating is not required - some things can be granted but we don't have magical powers of apparition, so don't have powers of creation beyond minor magics, own crafting skills, or gifts.

Mortals where clothes - weather is pretty warm most of the time, some seasons but doesn't need to affect deity kin. Can choose to have rain fall around you. Mortals give Jalari and Et tribute. Mortals don't give us names out of respect to the dieties. Mortals may give fruit or sticks or sacrifices - and we can use it but know that the act of giving up is for the deity, so no worry there.

Dragons were created by Et and handle most of the prime elements - volcanoes, rivers, winds, earth. Dragons were created them 1000 years ago. Jalari created us later from that. Dragons evolved into that role of wanting to choose those prime elements. Dragons sequester themselves more. Monsters and animals are also considered mortals. Plants and trees are not considered mortals.

Maybe had pain before but never an injury we had to recover from. Currency isn't really a thing, but could gamble for favors or secrets or dances. Not supposed to help mortals get through stone to metal age faster. We all know how things in the world work. One kin learned how to make a gun for instance. Neutralish aligned. Generally stealing from each other is frowned upon and would get a talking to if so. Not okay but not end of the world if we steal from mortals - not as missed by mortals as stealing from deity kin.

There are multiple languages but we can talk to all with truespeak. Don't really have an appearance but shift toward the appearance of traits and skills. Morgan's character likes to egg mortals on and often gets scolded for interfering too much. Gabe's character is very defensive about his stick. Are we wise and poised? Not a requirement. Might be young and foolish if studied how rivers work but not foolish in other areas.

At a point the 5 of us have reconciled differences. We can take written records but not something we're aware of just yet. We are unaware of prime material plane - only know what Jalari and Et have answered about the future and the world. They refuse to talk about origins before Et or their own plans for the future - might talk about science and industry or about what they will do to it - a guided path is a no-no but eventualities are inevitable.

One of deity spawns - a child of Et now has a name. Mortals give selves name because they're special. Want to find the named child of Et who has named others (Ti). Want to find out how we can get names, too. Same familiarity and recognition when they appear. Never met Ti (him/them). Don't know Ti's purpose. Have just heard someone named Ti (heard from deity kin and

If we want to talk to one, then one will be there to talk; Jalari will approach if they sense that we want to talk to them. Have not talked to Jalari and Et at the same time - never seen them interact together - they do show up corporally - 3d projection of their beings and so mortals can see them too. Would appear as if always there

Deities aren't all all knowing, so some stuff we do isn't worth punishing.


Prologue over.

Start - enclave of most advanced mortals - a few hunder- city with roads has been totally wiped off the face of the plane and has caused lots of uproar between the gods of who is to blame. Fiery brimestone explosion like a nuke and the city and all mortals are gone - crater but not metoer impact. Morgan's character was nearby when it happened.

Something went really really wrong, so all without purpose are recalled to Jalari's citadel. Tone was caring that we are not injured but stern that must come back right now and can't delay. All sitting in a room together that is ours. We're not supposed to go out at the time. Here we learn that someone named Ti has received a name. We're not special so haven't needed a name, but now punished, we think we should have a name now. All feel this urge separately but all aware.

Jalari is a bit too busy to communicate with us about giving us a name - not physically trapped here and other deity kin will try to keep us here. Not unusual that have to wait for deity - not always immediate.

Rich's silent image clothes on Morgan. Morgan has no genitals but very hairy. No need for romance so can stop things if don't want them. Can modify our being as we want it to be. None of us have horns right now. Likes looking like the mortals so wears clothes.

Primal elements existed before dragons became their custodians.

Been at least a few moons that we're stuck here. Celebration coming up - once per star rotation. Rest of children of Jalari will be busy with celebration, so might be able to sneak away. As long as we believe its toward finding our purpose, we're sure that they'll forgive us eventually. We're supposed to stay and our purpose for existence to find a purpose is being delayed and only those who don't have purposes are stuck here. i.e. Dragons weren't recalled. Most of Jalari's children who were promoted aren't at dragon level. All 5 must succeed to escape.

We are physically incapable of creating our own name or naming others - mental block. Rather open area - day and night cycles are a thing. Supposed to be in domain of Jalari and not Et's domain or unclaimed territory.

All choose different ways downstairs - jump, feather fall, stairs, rappel. Start heading toward the edge of Jalari's domain - start making it foggy. Rich wants to check on mortal friends who like his music. Some entities around. Try to sneak out through the fog and start finding our way out of the domain. As we leave the fog, notice there is a young girl with arms crossed and is a mortal projection of Jalari.

All need to protect the mortals together so we all have to go back to our rooms. Jalari helps people during the day. Says we can talk about Ti later. We all walked back and will keep watching us for a while. Morgan is trying to sneak off with a bad distraction. Morgan's legs stop working with hand on shoulder - told gently it will be okay and directed back to the domain. Back to our room. Decide to go back to the festival and enjoy selves - Morgan tells riddles and Rich does open mic.

Another year passes and this festival is coming up again. Festival is best chance at escaping. Now Rich casts invisibility on all of us.

Keeping scent down - 2 invsibilty - +1 stealth from gust, cat's grace on 1, bardic inspired 4. Under cover of night and other - we all find ourselves a good deal away. Seeming no issues of Jalari or other deity kin beckoning us back.

Begin heading toward village that we heard the rumor of Ti came from. Find selves in front of village after walking for several days and nights and are long rested. Find a group of mortals - they will know we are celestials. Rich can look like a mortal if he wants or disguise self can do so - he has been trying to look mortal. morgan kind of looks like a mortal - but has really thick hair.

Chapter 2 - The mortal village. Normal day - 20-25 people in tents. Rich and Gabe enter like a nomad ish type but more mortal outsiders. Other 3 stay back. They are greeted with spears and mistrust. Gabe speaks a similar nearby dialect. The River tribe dialect that they think is friendly with this tribe. Claim they're from the river tribe just passing through searching for gods. "A noble path". Not been recently, been a cycle of the seasons since any came to talk. Mortals don't know that celestials can't make up names. Mortals can lie about being a celestial but easy to prove wrong. There is a feast - ask if they have any offerings. It's the season of bounty. They have a village elder to pay respects - feast right after dusk.

Jump to evening - Rich plays drums after reupping disguise. Rich and Gabe still up. Trevor at outskirts of all people and will do awkward dance here and there, and Morgan away just some eyes in the night. I'm hiding in the bushes. Rich and Gabe join in and try to get elder to tell stories. Gabe trying to get to elder to talk. Rich is flirting with the locals.

Elder is really old - maybe 32 - wise and old for a mortal. Rich is drumming too hard so I can't hear. Gabe asks about the Ti god. Long ago, when the servants didn't have names. But apparently, long ago in their grandfather's generation, one performed an act so heroic that gods decided that they would be assigned a name. This one was named Ti and he did something so impressive that the gods thought to be worthy of their own actions. Long ago - grandfather told this story. Maybe prayed to another servant of Et, then maybe would tell us. Can only hope we will be told more. He thinks that they might have stolen from the gods and been banished, they are friends but… Gabe leaves before too much more. Sasha usually makes the baskets for the offerings. Talk to basket maker about Ti - doesn't know who Ti is but has baskets. Gabe says that he'll give her a small cow in exchange for the basket.

Morgan gets closer and they see Morgan as a celestial on the ground beating to the to drum that Rich is making. Gabe goes toward Morgan with basket. Morgan asks who are you. One dude shakes Rich to stop. Your humble servant - he is Bren. Morgan tries to make the mortal guess his name. Servant of Jalari.

Rich casts calm emotions on Bren and the village calm. Gabe removes disguise and reveals self - village elder is in state of reverence. Get a general direction toward's Et's domain. Elder surface thoughts - what a great day over and over - such blessings. Deeper thoughts to father and grandfather memories and hear the story who had heard it from another named entity another from Et's domain. Trevor gave thanks telepathically to the elder who passes out at this point. Very rare for mortals to have magic - magic mortals not worshipped but treated as a skilled hunter. No one has 9th level spells. cantrips and maybe a 1st level spell (arch wizards have 1st level spells). Trevor takes a lot of the offerings - kid like shape - but gives them a small thing that gives light. I skip away after petting them on their heads. End of chapter 2.

No quest logs but communal quest log at the start of next week.

19 - Break Week

A week to rest and recharge or extra working...

12 - Act 2 Finale (Skithryx)

Go to fight Skithryx. Lucky, Ignar, Avallach, Nanny, Lelyvia. Teleported to a small village. Know that there is going to be an attack happening soon - stock up on potions.

Go to Moz's place then teleport us to the village - something looks wrong, not a nice peaceful village - actively under siege . Don't immediately see people yet but hear combat noises.
