The cloak is woven out of primarily a dark red cloth with a light red and gold flame pattern around the edges of the cloth. A single circular clasp is set on the cloth to keep the cloak upon your shoulders. When worn the cloak drapes down to just below your shoulders.

As an action you may activate the Embersoul Cloak. When you activate the Embersoul Cloak the clasp glows and sinks into the chest of the wearer. The red and gold threads ignite, burning the entire cloak and wreathing your shoulders in a flame that continue to burn for the duration of the activation.

The Embersoul Cloak remains active for one hour. If you fall unconscious the activation ends.

While the Embersoul Cloak is active:

  • You gain two legendary actions per round which may be used to attack or move or cast a cantrip, two legendary actions may be expended to cast a spell.
  • Each of your attacks has a +10 to hit.
  • Your attacks are unaffected by resistances.
  • Your Spell Save DC increases by 10.
  • You are immune to fire damage.
  • At the end of your turn every creature within 5ft of you takes 1d8 fire damage.
  • Whenever another creature touches you or hits you with a melee attack they take 1d8 fire damage.

At the end of an hour the Embersoul Cloak consumes itself in flame destroying it. Over the next ten minutes your body painlessly begins crumbling to dust, starting at your chest where the clasp embedded itself and ending with your head. Your soul, having been blessed with the powers of the divine flame, becomes unwilling to be revived into a mere mortal body.

If a creature possessing your body activated the Embersoul Cloak your body is still consumed, however your soul remains untouched by divine flame, instead the soul of the possessor becomes unwilling to either return a mortal body.
