Maerilith's Book Avallac'h's Book
Dear Avallac'h,

I apologize for our fight during our last quest. I feared you had succumbed to the corruption of that red creature and did not want you doing something that you would later regret.

Greth is a valuable asset to the guild with a wealth of knowledge about this region and ability to locate powerful artifacts such as the Radiant items - killing Greth would have been a tremendous waste of a useful ally. I hope that even you can see the reason in that. We would not have even located the first Radiant artifacts without him, and we certainly would not have any leads on additional ones if you had killed him.

I implore you to weigh the pros and cons of these decisions more in the future. I would also suggest clarifying the exact magical properties of the items being offered before agreeing to any payment. I have yet to see you use that Embersoul Cloak of yours that you had purchased previously - doesn't that make you wonder if this magical orb might have similar distasteful side effects?

Again, I am simply trying to appeal to your skills of reasoning and request more forethought in the future. I am not suggesting that you should never accept one of these offers - it would be hypocritical of me. All that I ask is that when offered a similar proposition in the future, to consider who is the least valuable asset. If some other... less useful faction members had been there with us, I perhaps may have lent you a hand...

Think on this.

Sincere Regards,

Maerilith

Dear Avallac'h,

I implore you to read my quest log before posting your own should you choose to write one in order to make sure we don't... confuse anyone with differing perspectives of the events of this week.

I also hope that your... hunger has been sated for now and again request that you ask for more details before accepting terms in future dealings. That was an intriguing side effect but, ultimately, the jaw-dropping aftermath did not look very pleasant. Not the worst that could have happened, but you really should find out more in advance to be better prepared for such things.

In my logs, I will continue to dissuade other guild members from making deals with this red creature - the less interactions with others it has, the better for us at the moment. I will continue to leave it up to your discretion whether to accept additional dealings or not, but I personally will be avoiding them. There's more to this creature's dealings than meets the eye, and I'd rather not have my form - or soul - permanently taken by this creature as seemingly Sammy's was.

I might also request to borrow your spellbook for a night sometime this week if you can spare it during one of your nightly meditations.

Sincere Regards,

Maerilith
